BMCM (SW) Charles H. Lovett

Master Chief Lovett is a native of Georgia. He joined the Navy in 1973, completing recruit training in Orlando, Florida.

He served at sea in USS McMORRIS (DE 1036) from November 1973 to December 1974 as leading deck seaman, in USS BREWTON (FF 1086) from January 1975 to July 1977, in USS PENSACOLA (LSD 38) from August 1977 to September 1981, where he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare specialist pin, and in USS DUPONT (DD 941) from October 1981 to February 1983, where he was a decommissioning plank owner. he served aboard USS CLAUDE V. RICKETTS (DDG 5), once again as a decommissioning plank owner.

His sole shore tour was staff duty at the Naval Base Brig from March 1983 to September 1986 as Brig Supervisor.

He attended the Senior Enlisted Academy in Newport, Rhode Island, and up graduation, reported to Precomissioning Detachment Arleigh Burke in November 1989.

His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with gold star, Navy Achievement Medal with two gold stars, and various unit citations and campaign awards.
