
The purpose of the USS Arleigh Burke Association is to represent the professional values of all those who have served onboard USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) or have an ongoing interest in promoting the ship and crew, the Arleigh Burke Class of Aegis Guided Missile Destroyers, as well as the United States Navy. Toward that end, this Association serves as the professional association for all ARLEIGH BURKE crewmembers and their supporters, past, present and future.
It is the aim of this Association to promote recognition of the continuing contributions of USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) and the Arleigh Burke Class of Aegis Guided Missile Destroyers to the United States Navy and the security of the United States. To that end we will:
- Recognize and publicize professional excellence in USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) and support the crew in their mission of providing for the security of the United States.
- Actively seek opportunities to engage in discussions of the tactical and strategic contributions of USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) and the Arleigh Burke Class of Aegis Guided Missile Destroyers to national security.
- Aggressively pursue opportunities to promote liaison and communication between the business, military and academic communities to further understanding of the contributions of USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) to national security.
- Foster and preserve the heritage of Admiral Arleigh Burke, USN (Ret.), his wife Roberta Burke, and USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) in regards to their contributions to the United States Navy and national security.
- Provide a continuing forum on professional matters affecting USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51) and the Arleigh Burke Class of Aegis Guided Missile Destroyers and their integral role within the United States Navy through a variety of means throughout the professional, business and academic communities.
